An Interview with Slkor’s Judy Liu: Winning Three Newcomer Sales Awards by Keeping Things Simple
Shenzhen China – October 13, 2026 –
In less than a year since joining, Judy Liu, International Sales Manager at Slkor (www.slkoric.com), has won the company’s newcomer award three times under its incentive program. Her performance among new employees stands out. But after sitting down with her, you realize her approach is not complicated. In her own words, it is about “doing simple things repeatedly.”From feeling lost when she first entered the semiconductor industry to now confidently following up with customers in the UK, Czech Republic, Spain, the Middle East, Japan, South Korea, and other countries and regions, she relies on that same calm, steady diligence.

That composure was not there from the start. When she first encountered semiconductors, Judy Liu looked at datasheets and dense part numbers as if they were a foreign language. The industry felt high-end and hard to grasp. But she did not rush to prove herself; she started with the basics.
“I set small plans for myself every day and wrote down what I needed to do. First, I started by getting familiar with the products. Then I moved on to customer maintenance and categorizing customers.”
The reminder she gives herself most often is not to rush. “Don’t rush to think about closing a deal, and don’t rush to quote. First, do the foundational work well.”Every day, she analyzes customers, researches their backgrounds, figures out what problem they are really trying to solve, and then quotes accordingly. Not landing an order for a month or two is normal in her view. “This isn’t something you can rush. If I do the basic work I should do every day, I think things won’t turn out too badly.”Slkor is a new brand, so earning customer trust takes time; likewise, producing results takes time.

Judy Liu is handling her to-do list.
Early on, colleagues in the international department helped her a great deal. Xiaoxia Lai and Ying Zhu helped at different stages. When problems came up, everyone discussed them together, which helped her avoid many detours.
For a newcomer who had just stepped into the semiconductor industry, that kind of mentoring not only solved specific business problems but also gave her more confidence in the early stage and made her feel less isolated.

After nearly a year of continuous practice, Judy Liu has developed her own working method. Her daily fundamentals center on three things: keeping up with the latest overseas product news and market trends, maintaining key customers, and learning product knowledge. On that basis, she divides customers into A, B, C, and D categories, spending 80% of her time on the 20% of key customers. When she receives an inquiry, her first step is to do background research: Is the company large or small? Is it an end user or a trader? Is her contact in procurement or an engineer? For high-quality customers, she tries to stay visible, appear more often, and maintain a steady frequency of contact.

The first time she won the Newcomer Award, Judy Liu was surprised and delighted. “To receive an extra honor like that felt like a real privilege.”Winning again was confirmation of her efforts. “It made me feel that I really could push myself a little harder and give a little more.”She is also very grateful for the company’s incentive policy, which allows newcomers to be rewarded for their efforts and to gain a strong sense of accomplishment. Regarding the incentive policy, Slkor General Manager Shiqiang Song said, “At Slkor, there are quite a few newcomers like her. The company provides the platform and resources, the policy provides motivation, and the rest is up to each person to walk out step by step.”

As she gained a deeper understanding of the industry, Judy Liu became increasingly confident in front of overseas customers. When customers visited the Shenzhen headquarters, she was poised and natural, introducing the company’s history and its office environment inspired by Song Dynasty aesthetics. Before hosting visitors, she would confirm in advance which part numbers they wanted to learn about and prepare samples. When customers from the Czech Republic and Turkey visited previously, they took samples with them on the spot and placed orders after returning home. In her view, the most important thing when hosting foreign customers is to be natural and sincere, so they can feel her professionalism and sincerity. This year, she also attended electronica China in Shanghai with the company, meeting face-to-face with customers from different countries and gaining a more direct sense of their differentiated product needs.

After working with customers from different countries for a long time, Judy Liu has also stumbled over cultural differences. Many Turkish customers are religious and do not celebrate Christmas. She once mistakenly sent a Christmas email and only realized afterward that it was inappropriate. Since then, she has taken the initiative to learn about different customers’religious backgrounds, holiday customs, and cultural characteristics. For example, European customers are precise and punctual, while Middle Eastern customers value emotions and personal connections. These experiences have made her more attentive to details in cross-cultural communication.

When it comes to overseas acceptance of domestic semiconductors, Judy Liu has her own observations. She says that in the past, many overseas customers were not very familiar with domestically produced Chinese products and preferred international major brands. But international brands are expensive, so some customers began looking for ways to reduce costs and improve efficiency, and gradually saw the value of Chinese products as alternatives. “Acceptance is now much better than before, and some alternatives are actually very good.”

Next, she wants to develop more end customers and make orders more stable—by repeating simple things and doing the fundamentals solidly. At Slkor, that is how Judy Liu has made her way step by step.
