On September 16th, the 2023 Cell and Gene Industry Exchange Conference kicked off in the Dapeng New District of Shenzhen. On the same day, the inauguration ceremony of Shenzhen Zeyi Cell Therapy Group (hereinafter referred to as “Shenzhen Zeyi”) was held. At the same time, Shenzhen Zeyi, in collaboration with multiple Nobel laureates, academicians, and domestic and international top scientists and medical experts, jointly initiated the “Tian Nian Ark Plan”.

Government officials, authoritative academicians, renowned industry experts and scholars, and industry leaders were invited to attend the conference, including Nobel laureates in chemistry Arieh Warshel and Michael Levitt, who made presentations on cancer prevention and treatment. The conference was also attended by industry elites from all over the country.

At the opening ceremony, leaders of the Shenzhen Science, Technology, and Innovation Commission and Shenzhen Dapeng New District Management Commission, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the China Health Promotion Foundation Xi Lusuo, and President of Shenzhen Zeyi Cell Therapy Group Bai Zongke delivered speeches. Then, a highly anticipated event officially began: the leaders solemnly and warmly unveiled the inauguration ceremony of Shenzhen Zeyi and the Shenzhen Bio-Home Zeyi Cell Therapy Project. A short film introduced at the conference revealed that the “Tian Nian Ark Plan” originated from Academician Wu Mengchao’s layout of cell therapy in 2000. The release of the plan coincides with the significant day of Academician Wu’s 101st birthday, representing the continuation of his wish. Previously, under his leadership, China made rapid advancements in cell therapy. In just 23 years, China’s cell technology achieved a leap in progress, with research projects comparable to the United States, far surpassing Japan and Europe. To drive this plan forward, Shenzhen Zeyi is using emerging cell and gene technologies to assist more people in early cancer prevention to keep them away from tumors.

In recent years, Shenzhen Zeyi has conducted multidimensional and in-depth systematic research on the fundamentals, applications, and clinical transformation in cell therapy, collaborating with well-known domestic and international institutions. Through strong collaboration and complementary advantages, they have explored key common scientific issues in cell therapy, developed new technologies and products for cell therapy, nurtured professional talents in this field, and boosted the scientific and standardized development of the cell therapy industry, contributing to the health and sustainable development of the industry.
